Our Ministry Philosophy

JOY Missions is committed to biblical, church-centered missions. We believe the Gospel is the foundation for all true transformation and that healthy, Christ-centered churches are God’s design for reaching and discipling the nations.

Our ministry emphasizes:

  • Faithful proclamation of the Gospel

  • Intentional discipleship rooted in Scripture

  • Leadership training that equips national believers

  • Ministry that strengthens and serves the local church

We seek not only to reach individuals but to multiply Gospel impact through trained leaders and established churches.

Our Story

JOY Missions began with a clear calling to serve in Gospel ministry through evangelism and discipleship in Africa. Over more than two decades, God has allowed this ministry to serve in Botswana and beyond through church partnership, pastoral care, leadership training, and hands-on discipleship.

Throughout the years, our focus has remained the same: faithful ministry grounded in Scripture, carried out in partnership with the local church, and sustained by God’s people.

As the ministry has grown, God has opened the door for expanded impact through the vision of the JOY Life Center—a permanent, Gospel-centered ministry base designed to support evangelism, discipleship, biblical counseling, and leadership training.

Our Team

Leadership

JOY Missions is led by Travis and Mimi Dykes, who have served in missions and pastoral ministry for over 24 years. Their calling is rooted in shepherding people, equipping leaders, and ensuring that all ministry remains faithful to the authority of Scripture and the mission of the Church.

Their experience includes evangelism, pastoral care, discipleship, leadership training, and cross-cultural ministry, with a strong emphasis on developing national leaders for long-term Gospel work.
