God Is Moving — And We’re Moving Forward

Dear Pastors, Partners, and Praying Friends,

The Lord is doing something special — and we are incredibly grateful to be part of it with you.

As of March 1st, Baptist International Outreach is no longer handling our funds, and we are now operating fully through Reach Missions. This transition has gone smoother than we could have imagined. More than half of our supporting churches have already made the switch, and your encouragement throughout this season has strengthened us more than you know.

BIO was gracious to give us three months to make this transition seamless. If a March gift was sent to BIO, it will be returned, so please do not be surprised. We are thankful for every church and every partner who has walked patiently with us through this move.

The Work Is Growing

While transitions can sometimes slow momentum, that has not been the case on the field.

In Botswana, the JOY Life Center Church is now standing room only on most Sundays. Chairs are being moved from around the property just to accommodate the people coming to hear the Word of God. Souls are being saved. Families are being restored. Lives are being discipled.

In Ethiopia, the Victory Deaf Church continues to grow steadily, reaching Deaf individuals and their families in the surrounding community. The Gospel is advancing among a group that is often overlooked, and we are seeing God build something lasting.

God is at work — and we are not slowing down.

Looking Ahead to September

With our children graduating soon, we are preparing to return to Botswana in September. As we do, we must raise additional monthly support over the coming months. I have already begun reaching out to new churches and building new ministry relationships.

Please pray for us as we balance deputation and partnership development while continuing to oversee and strengthen the works already established in Ethiopia and Botswana.

We are available for meetings and missions conferences (except the month of May), and we would love to come share in person what God is doing.

The JOY Life Center: A Beacon of Hope

What began as a vision has now become a thriving ministry hub.

The JOY Life Center is more than a church building. It is a place for:

  • Evangelism

  • Leadership training

  • Biblical counseling

  • Family restoration

  • Community outreach

It is a beacon of hope in Botswana.

Every week we are seeing eternal fruit. People are coming to Christ. Believers are being discipled. Leaders are being trained. Families are being strengthened.

But the opportunities ahead of us are even greater.

Would You Prayerfully Consider Partnering?

As we prepare to return, we invite you to pray about partnering with us in strengthening and expanding the JOY Life Center and our ongoing work in Ethiopia.

Your support directly fuels Gospel ministry:

  • Souls saved

  • Leaders equipped

  • Churches strengthened

  • The unreached engaged

Together, we are shining the light of the Gospel in places where darkness once prevailed.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for believing in what God is doing through JOY Missions.

The best days of this ministry are still ahead.

With grateful hearts and great expectation,

Travis Dykes

For 24 years, Travis Dykes has faithfully served as a missionary and pastor, dedicating his life to the Great Command by making disciples in Botswana and across the world. After decades of ministry in Africa, he is now stepping into a full-time role in pastoral care, leadership training, and Deaf outreach with Reach Missions. In this new season, Travis will continue to pour into global partners, equip leaders, and share the Gospel where it has yet to be heard.

As Travis begins this next chapter, we invite you to prayerfully consider becoming a monthly financial partner. Your support directly strengthens his work to reach the unreached, encourage frontline workers, and expand the Kingdom of God in tangible, life-changing ways.

Travis is currently serving in multiple nations, with a primary focus in Botswana and Ethiopia, and your partnership helps make that possible.
